What is included
Delegates will:
• Revisit the roles and responsibilities of the Strategic (Gold) Commander within a single-agency context • Applying the JESIP principles • Refresh strategic risk management, decision making and prioritisation. • Practice chairing or attending an internal ‘Gold meeting’ ahead of a strategic Coordination Group • Strengthen communication and assurance with staff, stakeholders, and the public • Reinforce best practice in maintaining professional decision logs and records, understanding legal responsibilities and preparing for an inquiry
A legal professional specialising in emergency response contributes to the course, ensuring delegates understand the legal framework of civil contingencies. Practical guidance is also provided on maintaining professional logs and recording decisions to support accountability and resilience.
This training will include a number of small exercises and a realistic, locally based major incident exercise of your choice, linked to your risk register, developed in consultation with your organisation to ensure we test your plans, maximise learning and deliver the outcomes you require.
